Doghouse Boarding Kennels - Katherine CadmanThe Dog House Boarding Kennels are proud of their links with the community.  In September 2007 Team Dog House entered The Coniston Challenge which is a fund raising event  for Guide Dogs For the Blind.  Team Dog House, a group of six made up from family and friends, climbed to the summit of The Old Man of Coniston, then took a 12 mile bike ride through Grizedale Forest followed by a canoe course on Coniston water - all within 10 hours.

Guide Dogs for the Blind is a great charity that we like to support.  Dogs play a big part in most of our lives as friends and companions, but to put your trust and freedom in their skill as your guide must build an even stronger bond.  In order to find suitable dogs, train them to an extremely high standard, match them to a suitable partially-sighted or blind person (matching the speed they walk, their lifestyle and many other issues) all costs money.  This all became apparent  to us when a friend  became dogless and we realised just how much freedom a guide dog gives someone and when they are without a dog they can be grounded.

In total we raised the grand sum of  £4,200 which was collected locally from sponsors, charity boxes and the justgiving website!
